5 Ways to Make Kitchens Feel More Spacious

At exact, we have experience working with kitchens of all shapes and sizes. Our experts know how to design a kitchen to maximise space, light and efficiency, and have shared some of their best tips below.

2. Use Light-Reflective Surfaces

Another way to make a kitchen space feel bigger is to enhance bright, natural light by using reflective surfaces. For one client, we added a smokey mirror splashback along the far wall of the kitchen to mirror the view of the garden. Combined with a gloss finish on the cabinets, this successfully made the room feel brighter and more spacious.

3. Create a Pull-Out Pantry

When designing a kitchen, we don’t just think about designing the look and aesthetics of the space, but also the practicality and with that, the storage opportunities. One of our favourite space-saving practicalities is the pull-out pantry. Not only is this a great use of a narrow space, but a pull-out pantry allows you to hide all your dried goods. Our pull-out pantries are designed to fit seamlessly into the rest of your kitchen so no one but you would know it was there.

4. Add a Siemens glassdraftAir

Get rid of the bulky oven hood and opt for the Siemens glassdraftAir instead. With a ventilation system built into the sleek elegant design of the transparent glass that rises from the worktop, the spacious atmosphere of the kitchen can be preserved. Plus, the glassdraftAir does not require you to compromise on space, allowing for maximum storage underneath the hob too.

5. Include a Built-In Wine Fridge

Another storage solution that we love is a built-in wine fridge. The Siemens iQ500 wine cooler provides a unique and practical way to store your wine bottles and keep them cool. With a modern design and innovative technology, the Siemens wine cooler is the perfect wine storage solution for any small kitchen.
