When the Biangas approached us with the desire for a contemporary-style Shaker kitchen, we were delighted to work with them to create unique yet warm space.

The design was for the couple’s new extension and, interestingly, the architect on the project had already created a concept that the client wanted to keep. This allowed us to work together with the architect to come up with the perfect design, regularly communicating throughout to ensure that the Bianga’s vision came to life.

The couple wanted the kitchen to have a traditional feel but with contemporary elements, straying away from a rustic aesthetic by incorporating dark leather accents–leaning more towards industrial chic.

This influenced the solid wood Shaker cabinetry in Soft Grey, contrasting the beautiful Dark Graphite island. This is then brightened by white quartz worktops, creating a welcoming contrast to the moodier tones.

The Biangas then chose industrial-style statement lighting above the island and a full-height smoked glass splashback to incorporate the raw, factory elements.  This was then complimented with wood-effect floor tiles and warm spotlights on the ceiling, in keeping with the traditional atmosphere.

All of these came together to leave the client thrilled with the final result, as their new kitchen perfectly incorporated minimalist factory chic balanced with a homely, Shaker-style space.
