The Delany family wanted a simple and practical kitchen for their home, which brought a touch of modern, while still feeling warm and homely. The space the Delany's had was limited and they didn’t need a large grand kitchen area for only the two of them, however, they knew that they wanted a space where they could comfortably cook and eat, as well as a space that flowed out into the garden and patio area.

Taking on board the brief and working with the Delany family, we came up with a concept that maximised the compact space available. We used a contemporary handleless design to create a seamless, modern feel, using neutral two-tone colours of dark concrete and light grey. This perfectly complemented the marble effect Karndean flooring, a leading wood effect flooring that is easier to keep clean than real wood and is warmer in the winter. 

We added a table and seating at the end of the kitchen, which flowed directly out to the garden. We completed the space with leading appliances such as an oven and dishwasher from Siemens and a high-quality Blanco sink and tap. 

The Delany home was an older building, which caused us to be met with challenges such as existing walls that had chimney breasts and walls not being straight, causing areas with different heights, widths and depths. Thankfully, due to our large range of products at Exact, it was possible to find units that fitted perfectly into the unusual space and gaps of the Delany kitchen.
