In search of a modern and sleek looking kitchen for their new extension, the Beckett family enlisted our help to design and fit their new kitchen. The kitchen had to be practical and functional for cooking and withstand busy family life. The Becketts also wanted a kitchen island and breakfast bar to make cooking more sociable and provide a space for meals and snacks. 

To create their dream kitchen, we went for a contemporary handleless design using matte lacquered kitchen doors in marble grey, alongside Dekton opera worktop to create a high-quality space that was not only beautiful but sturdy and long-lasting. We added LED Smart lighting along the edges of the units to enhance the modern streamlined effect. 

The island in the centre of the kitchen was designed complete with a Spekva solid wood breakfast bar set on top in a floating effect. This gave the kitchen a bespoke design edge, adding a subtle yet interesting feature to the space. It also provided extra storage space to aid practicality.

A variety of innovative features and appliances were incorporated into the kitchen to make it as practical as possible. This included Siemens inductionAir system hob, which uses sophisticated technology to combine the cooktop and ventilation into one compact countertop unit. This allowed the cooking space to be seamlessly integrated into the living space, placing the hob on the island in the heart of the kitchen. Concealed plug sockets were added under the breakfast bar to cater for when it may be used by family members for working and they might need to charge a laptop. We also added leading appliances such as  Franke boiling tap, and Siemens’ ovens, as well as a tall fridge and freezer concealed in the units to give the room a coherent finish from floor to ceiling.
